Baby Reese!!
Update Post #3!
BABY REESE!!
BABY REESE!!
Sunday, June 21st.
Otherwise known as Father's Day and my due date! We decided to head for Burley and spend the day. Gary is such an amazing dad! I could not have asked for a better daddy for my girls. I love him so much! It is easy to celebrate a day for him! But, during that afternoon I started to have some contractions. They got pretty close. So Gary and I loaded up and headed back for Twin. We got to the hospital and they hooked me up and what do you think happens, my contractions stop. COMPLETELY!! So they nicely told me that there was no reason for me to stay because they would not induce me. I was so mad and very sad! Gary loaded me up and we headed back to Burley. We enjoyed the rest of the day!!
Monday, June 22nd.
That Monday I had an appointment. I was determined that I was not going to take no for an answer and that they were going to induce me!! Gary got to go with me as well. Well it ended up that Reese wasn't moving alot so they hooked me up to monitors and watched me for a half hour. After they zapped my belly with the noise thing she finally started moving around. The doctor finally came in and checked me over and guess what, I was still dilated to a 2 and 70% effaced. NOTHING! He asked me what I thought! I said I think you should induce me! He said that they wouldn't induce at night so he would check the calendar for the week. He asked me if I had and preferences on which doctor, and I quickly told him NO! I said as soon as you can get me in will be great! So he came back and told us that they will induce me at 5:00 am the next morning! I was so very excited!! That night Abbie came down so that she could stay with Regie in the morning and we all went shopping for some last minute baby things. I think we were very excited because we had a little too much fun shopping! It was a good evening! Abbie had been wanting to watch UP also so Gary kicked Abbie and I out of the house and made us go to the movies. It was fun. Abbie enjoyed the movie as well, and I still love it!! When we got back to the house Gary had packed me a bag, a bag for Reese, and some stuff for Regie for in the morning. It was so cute! I think he was excited as well. That night I was so excited. I don't think Gary and I slept very much.
Tuesday, June 23rd.
We were both up before the alarm went off. We were ready for this baby to get here. I had contractions through the night and they picked up that morning. We got to the hospital and they hooked me up, I was having pretty regular contractions already but they did start the pitocin as well around 6:00. The contractions picked up and my cervix started dilating. I went from a 2 to a 3 to a 6 quick. We let family know and they started showing up around 9ish. I went from a 6 to a 9 to 10 very quickly! Luckily they had started the epidural when I was at a six. I didn't fill anything past that, which I am thankful for. I let the nurse know I was ready to push and we started. I think I pushed twice with the nurse and then the doctor came. I pushed with him and he realized that Reese was turned upside down. So with my next push he turned her around and after the push she went back to the position he did not want! That is when he got the vacuum and he made me worry. He explained that her heart rate was going down and I knew that was not a good thing. So he told me to push and get her out. With one more push that sweet baby girl was out and we found out that the cord was wrapped around her and that is why she kept turning around. But she was perfectly healthy and at this point very mad!! She had a major bruise on the top of her poor head! Gary and I were so happy she was finally here! Gary went and got Regie and the four of us just visited for awhile! Regie was so worried that both I and the baby had bands on us and that I had the IV. She did not like that! But she sure loved her sister right away. She was so excited to see her and she talked to her in the sweetest high pitched voice. The rest of the family took turns coming in and loving on our newest addition. It was great morning!!
Reese Renee Cederberg was born at 10:07am on the 23rd. She was 7 lbs. and 3 oz. and 21 inches long.
The first couple of pictures are before the arrival of Reese. I look horrible, but they are memories!!
